In continuation to drive against illicit liquor in sub division Akhnoor, on 16.03.2021 during naka checking by Inspr. Balwinder Singh, SHO Police Station Khour under the supervision of Sh. Varun Jandial, SDPO Akhnoor, at Budwal Chowk, one Lady coming from Nandwal towards Budwal carrying a white Bag, tried to change her direction and ran away after noticing the police party. On this she was chased and nabbed by police party and during the search of her bag 11 No’s of OB JK special whisky 750/750 ml, 11 No’s of Bottles 750/750 ml Himalaya XXX Rum, 04 No’s of Bolttle 750/750 ml of Tiger Drygin, 02 No’s of Bottle 750/750ml JK special whisky, 01 No. of Bottle 750/750 ml Tiger Orange, total 21,750ml were recovered from her possession. She disclosed her name as Santosh Kumari W/O Parshotam Singh R/O Budwal Tehsil Khour District Jammu. Said lady was carrying the liquor for selling illegally to general public.
On this a case FIR No.14/2021 U/S 48(a) Excise Act was registered at this Police Station.
Police appealed people to share any information regarding sale-purchase of liquor illegally and warned stern action against defaulters.
